Hansel and Gretel

A very poor family has no food, so the heartless stepmother convinces her husband to lose his children in the forest. Hansel and Gretel drop pebbles and find their way home once, but the next time they are not so fortunate and end up at the candy-covered home of a blind witch. The children trick the witch, save themselves, and take the witch's treasure home, where they live happily ever after. This traditional German folk tale was recorded by the Brothers Grimm in 1812.
